Worldwide Cancer Research aims to fund innovative research that addresses major questions related to cancer biology, with the potential to revolutionise our understanding of cancer and how to defeat it.
To this end, basic, fundamental or translational research projects on cancer prevention, diagnosis or treatment will be funded.
No research field within this area will be prioritised; it may include research based on epidemiological, behavioural and clinical data to provide a starting point for a new line of research.
Multidisciplinary or cross-disciplinary projects will be encouraged where this helps stimulate innovation.
Clinical research, including clinical trials, patient care, nursing or healthcare delivery research, will not be funded. Other types of applied cancer research, such as policy, public health or psychosocial research, will also not be funded.
