Call context

The need to improve the research capabilities of the members of our society, as well as the inherent difficulties in obtaining funds for those who wish to start a professional career related to research, greatly limit the proper positioning of Radiation Oncology within the national and international research landscape.

FEOR, the Spanish Foundation of Radiation Oncology, in compliance with the agreement of the 2022 Ordinary General Assembly, establishes IRAD, the Research Institute in Radiation Oncology, to improve and promote research in Radiation Oncology.

Its purpose will be fundamentally research-based, teaching, cultural, private, charitable-educational in nature and permanent in character.

IRAD objective

IRAD’s fundamental objective will be to promote the development of research in Radiation Oncology and continuing training in scientific research, to advance the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of all neoplastic diseases, on an altruistic and non-profit basis.

At FEOR, we firmly believe that supporting research in Radiation Oncology is essential, and we are committed to ensuring that this research activity helps structure and project the vision of solid, powerful, cohesive research groups that are representative of the reality of our specialty in Spain.

Purpose of the IRAD-FEOR Grants

For all these reasons, IRAD is launching these research grants, the IRAD-FEOR Grants, with the aim of promoting, supporting and increasing the critical mass of researchers in Radiation Oncology.

Radiotherapy is a fundamental pillar in cancer treatment, playing a role at all stages of the disease, whether with curative or complementary intent or as palliation of symptoms and improvement of quality of life.

This IRAD-FEOR Grants call has the fundamental objective of identifying and promoting the most promising research initiatives, with the greatest scientific rigour and excellence, and with the highest potential clinical impact in the coming years for the development and advancement of cancer management.
